In the second quarter of 2024, Qatar had the lowest unemployment rate in the region, at 0.1%, according to a study from the GCC Statistical Center (GCC-STAT).
The survey claims that with unemployment rates of 0.1% for males and 0.4% for women, Qatar has the lowest rates in the GCC. Additionally, the report revealed that 84.5% of foreign workers in Qatar are men and 15.5% are women. In the workforce, men make up 58.9% of Qatari citizens, while women make up 41.11%.
Additionally, according to GCC-STAT data, Qatar had 2.2 million foreign workers in Q2 2024, accounting for 8.9% of the region's total foreign workforce.
The National Planning Council (Qatar) provided the data for Qatar, while the other GCC countries' official statistical organizations provided the data for the report.
