Since its debut at Msheireb Station on the Doha Metro, the "Souq Al Rail" event organized by Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) in cooperation with other partners, has drawn a huge crowd. The event held from December 5 to 14 is a part of Qatar Rail's National Day celebrations. The event, with the theme "Our Heritage, Our Pride," is a part of the company's annual "Metro Events" series, which it hosts for the general public at metro stations.
This program is part of the company's long-term strategy plan to actively involve the public in order to turn metro stations into destinations and living communities.
The Qatar National Day logo and theme were used to transform Msheireb Station, which is where Doha Metro's three lines converge, into a bustling commercial and cultural center for the celebration. The occasion included entertainment, culture, and the promotion of national identity.
It included a range of partner booths selling souvenirs and goods with a National Day theme. The event also featured family-friendly and participatory activities related to Qatari heritage and the country's rich cultural heritage, making it suitable for all members of the family.
"Souq Al Rail" is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. Highlights include falconry, face painting, a National Day quiz, a storytelling circle, a traditional Qatari clothing area, the Qatari Ardha sword dance, and other interactive and family-friendly events.
