Urgent medical assistance and rescue teams to rush to Morocco’s aid as directed by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has ordered rescue and medical teams to head straight for Morocco. The help follows the deadly 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck numerous parts of Morocco late on Friday night. Organisations in Qatar have also been eager to provide money and other forms of assistance to their sister country. The Qatar Red Crescent Society allocated QAR 1 million (about 274,000 USD) for immediate aid. QAR 5 million more has been donated by Qatar Charity to help the disaster's victims.

The State of Qatar's contributions and aid will help in giving victims immediate relief, such as food, housing, tents, emergency medical supplies, and more.

More than 2,000 people have died in Morocco's earthquake crisis, which has worsened despite the fact that it has just been roughly 36 hours after the catastrophe. There is a growing feeling of urgency to broaden and step up search and rescue efforts since it is anticipated that many people are still buried beneath the rubble and debris of the destroyed buildings. The next several hours are crucial for securing their life and safety, therefore rescue crews are working hard to search the debris for survivors.
