VCUarts Qatar has announced that its much-awaited BFA + MFA Exhibition 2024 is open to the public

A partner university of the Qatar Foundation (QF), Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar) has announced the public opening of its much anticipated BFA + MFA Exhibition 2024. The exhibition is open to the public from Saturday, May 6 to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (the university is closed on Friday). It is not necessary to register.

The exhibition is located on the ground floor of the Education City campus of VCUarts Qatar.

On Sunday, the show had its official opening. Important figures from Qatar's creative industry, as well as the families and friends of the graduating students, attended the opening night.

The exhibition includes a collection of senior students' original and frequently unconventional works from VCUarts Qatar's undergraduate graphic design, interior design, painting and printmaking, and fashion design programs as well as the postgraduate design program at the university.

The Class of 2024 studied a variety of topics, including culture, language, identity, mental health, physical health, and the environment.

Numerous projects this year looked into health-related topics. The importance of design in fostering wellbeing and resolving health issues, both induced by lifestyle choices and not, was highlighted by initiatives targeting obesity, maternal health, autism, ADHD, and digital overuse.

Qatar served as an inspiration for other initiatives due to its distinctive marine ecosystem and landscapes, history of shipbuilding, and the relevance and history of its stamps and currency.

In order to include techniques like light, sound, video, animation, textile design, silk printing, fabrication technology, visual language, product, print, and website design, typography, coding, interior graphics, printmaking, digital painting, screen-printing, lithography, computer programming, and photographic stencil techniques in their final projects, students used a variety of media, resources, and tools into their projects.
