19th edition of the highly anticipated international trade exhibition - Project Qatar, was officially inaugurated on May 29

On Monday, May 29, 2023, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, gave the official opening speech at the 19th edition of Project Qatar, the eagerly awaited international trade exhibition showcasing building supplies, machinery and technology. The event offers a crucial forum for business executives and amateurs alike under the respected sponsorship of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Project Qatar 2023 pledges to surpass expectations and promote cutting-edge partnerships within the construction industry with the steadfast backing of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and in association with the prestigious Public Works Authority.

The exhibition's grand opening ceremony was conducted at the cutting-edge Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, reiterating its reputation as one of Qatar's largest and longest-running construction shows and a significant international trade event. Representatives from the Public Works Authority, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Qatari Diar, Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C., and several well-known local private sector organisations were among the notable guests and official delegations that attended the opening.

Additionally, the ceremony attracted attention from across the world due to the attendance of more than 30 ambassadors from the participating nations and other foreign trade delegations.

Haidar Mshaimesh, General Manager of IFP Qatar, expressed deep thanks for the faith shown in the exhibition by prominent leaders in Qatar and other international sectors and markets in light of the excellent attendance at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Construction activities and allied businesses are the focus of Project Qatar, the first and longest-running commercial expo in Qatar. This prominent event offers businesses of all kinds excellent chances to forge new business relationships and acts as a portal to the flourishing Qatari construction sector.

This year's expo, which embraces the ideas of the Qatar National Vision 2030, debuts a special showcase section dubbed "Qatar Industries" with the intention of showcasing the Qatari industrial sector to a global audience. This programme attempts to promote local producers' goods internationally and broaden their market reach. The exhibition draws attention to Qatar's outstanding achievements in the recent growth of the local industries sector. This edition of the exhibition emphasises the crucial significance of technical breakthroughs and places a major emphasis on the future of Qatar's building sector.

With a variety of companies presenting cutting-edge, multifunctional sophisticated technology used in building projects, the "Smart Cities" pavilion takes central stage. This platform emphasises how these technologies have the power to completely alter how the construction industry in Qatar operates in the future.

Suhail Industrial Holding Group, now Qatar's largest industrial group in terms of the number of factories and investment value, is sponsored by Qatar Industries. The Group's pavilion, which is the biggest in the show, highlights its extraordinary capabilities.

The Qatar Investment Authority's real estate company, Qatari Diar, which is participating in Project Qatar as an exclusive real estate developer and using the opportunity to promote its projects and investment opportunities, is in charge of overseeing the implementation of more than 60 projects in 24 countries across five continents with investments totalling USD 35 billion.

The conference sessions which will last four days and cover a different topic each day were officially launched on the opening day of the event. The first day, "Q Invest," focused on numerous investment opportunities in the Qatari construction industry.

The second day, with the subject "Q Industry," will focus on issues related to home production and industrial growth. The third day, with the theme "Q Tech," will focus on the value of smart technology in the construction sector, while the fourth day, with the theme "Q Green," will address environmental issues, sustainability, and eco-friendly building methods.

During the conference's opening ceremony, Eng. Yousef Al-Emadi, Projects Affairs Director of Ashgal and the event's strategic partner, made a powerful speech in which he praised the exhibition's unwavering commitment to advancing the construction industry, particularly in light of ongoing global challenges.

He gave a preview of the construction projects that would be accessible in Qatar in 2023 and the following year and invited partners, stakeholders, and everyone else with an interest in the sector to take advantage of the numerous opportunities these projects in Qatar will bring.

About 325 exhibitors, including 120 from outside, attend the event, representing 25 different nations. While 200 local enterprises are participating, eight of these nations have national pavilions that are made up of the most well-known government and semi-government organisations.

As a key partner, Public Works Authority (ASHGHAL) supports and sponsors Project Qatar, and Qatar Tourism sponsors the visiting business delegations.
