The 4th GCC Games Doha 2026 will officially open on Monday at Al Shaqab Arena, bringing together more than 1,000 athletes from six GCC countries for one of the region’s largest multi-sport events.
Running from May 11 to 22, the Games will feature competitions across 17 sports, with strong women’s participation in several events. The opening ceremony will include artistic performances and a special operetta titled “One Gulf, One Heart,” celebrating GCC unity and shared identity.
Qatar will be represented by a 300-member delegation competing in all sports featured at the Games.
Competitions will officially begin on Tuesday and events are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday: The Games will kick off with swimming, 3x3 basketball, taekwondo, table tennis, billiards and bowling events.
Wednesday: Equestrian, fencing, boxing and shooting competitions will begin.
Thursday: Athletics and handball events are set to start.
Friday: Snooker competitions will get underway.
Saturday: Volleyball and padel competitions will commence.
Sunday: Archery events will begin at the Lusail Shooting Range.
May 21: Karate competitions will take place for one day only at Aspire Dome.
