Sixty retail outlets across Qatar are now operating 24 hours a day to help stabilize markets and maintain smooth supply chains, a senior official at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) said.
Assistant Undersecretary for Consumer Affairs Hassan Sultan Al-Ghanem told Qatar TV that the number of outlets operating round the clock has increased from 22 to 60 as part of proactive measures to meet rising demand.
He added that around 20 water factories are also operating 24 hours a day, while several bakeries have extended working hours during the holy month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, MoCI inspection teams, in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality, are monitoring markets around the clock and conducting daily inspections of retail outlets.
