Al-Mujadilah Center & Mosque for Women in Qatar Foundation’s Education City has received the Middle East Awards 2025 from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), announced at Dubai Design Week. This marks RIBA’s first regional awards, highlighting 15 projects that merge design excellence with sustainability and cultural impact.
Founded by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Al-Mujadilah is the region’s first purpose-built women’s mosque and center, offering spaces for worship, learning, and community. Its distinctive travertine roof, over 5,000 light wells, and a 39-meter kinetic minaret create a serene, modern architectural expression.
