
Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has given his approval to the Cabinet's decision about the nation's official holidays. According to this decision, which was published in the Official Gazette, the following will be the official holidays for ministries, other government agencies, and public bodies and institutions:
The holiday for Eid al-Fitr will fall between the 28th day of Ramadan and the conclusion of the fourth day of Shawwal.
Official holidays for Eid al-Adha will fall between the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah and the end of the thirteenth day.
The country will observe Qatar National Day on December 18 as its third national holiday.
It further stated that if there were a single working day between two official holidays, that day will also be considered a holiday. The weekend will be considered an official holiday if it comes between any of these festivities, the Gazette adds.
