An amazing natural occurrence occurs every year from April to September in the Arabian Gulf, off the northwest coast of Qatar: one of the biggest whale shark assemblages in the world. Incredibly large numbers of these magnificent creatures often breach the ocean surface to feed, drawn by the warm currents and rich plankton waters.
Al Ruwais Port in Northern Qatar is where the tour departs from. The captain will greet you properly and give you an overview of the amenities available on board once you have boarded the catamaran.
It will take about two and a half hours to travel to the whale shark viewing area.
