The selection is based on a strategic bid by Qatar Tourism, highlighting Doha’s blend of cultural heritage, urban innovation, sustainability, and its alignment with Qatar’s economic diversification goals.
Doha’s selection was based on key strategic strengths, including advanced transport infrastructure such as Hamad International Airport, Qatar Airways’ global network, and an integrated metro and tram system.
The bid also highlighted flexible visa policies through the Hayya platform, a business-friendly environment, strong international partnerships, and global promotion efforts. In addition, Doha offers diverse tourism experiences supported by world-class event infrastructure, a rich cultural and sporting calendar, and a strong commitment to sustainability, heritage preservation, eco-tourism, and medical and wellness tourism.
