Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, announced on his Instagram account that the FIFA World Cup 2026 volunteer application process is officially open and that over 65,000 volunteers are anticipated to take part in this extraordinary World Cup edition.
According to the FIFA website, the United States, Canada, and Mexico will host the 2026 World Cup together, marking a first for the tournament. A total of 104 games will be held in 16 host cities.
Volunteers must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible:
- Eight shifts are committed between June 11, 2026, and July 19, 2026.
- At the time of application, be at least eighteen years old.
- The host country's admission requirements must be met.
- Speaking English is a must, while knowing other languages is advantageous.
- Participate in training and volunteer team tryouts.
- Accept and successfully complete a background check, albeit the procedure differs in Mexico.
