The General Tax Authority (GTA) urges all registered taxpayers to file their 2024 tax returns via the Dhareeba Tax Portal by August 31, 2025, to avoid penalties. This initiative aims to promote voluntary compliance and strengthen trust with taxpayers.
This requirement is consistent with the rules of the Income Tax Law (Law No. 24 of 2018), as well as its executive regulations and revisions, the GTA stressed in a statement. Including tax-exempt entities, businesses who are completely owned by Qatari or GCC nationals, and businesses with foreign partners, all businesses and organizations with a commercial registration or license inside the State must file their tax returns within the allotted period.
The 100 percent Financial Penalty Exemption Initiative, which allows taxpayers to regularize their tax status without facing additional financial constraints, was renewed by the GTA within this framework, according to the agreed terms and circumstances.
The Dhareeba Tax Portal makes it simple for taxpayers to submit exemption requests and the necessary paperwork, and the program is in effect until August 31, 2025.
By offering a flexible and incentivizing tax environment that boosts the confidence of the business and investment sectors and helps to develop a diversified and sustainable economy, GTA stated that this initiative is part of its strategic approach to supporting the national economy and encouraging entrepreneurs to comply voluntarily.
On Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. until August 31, 2025, the GTA's customer care and technical support teams will be on hand to offer tax consultations at the GTA Tower, the agency also said.
