International conference on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights commenced in Doha

The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the National Cybersecurity Agency (NCSA), the UN Development Programme, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI), Huawei, and other significant international players in digital technology and governance, launched the international conference titled "Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights: Opportunities, Risks, and Visions for a Better Future" in Doha.
AI offers enormous potential to improve a number of human rights, such as access to information, healthcare, education, freedom of speech, and personal safety.
The meeting supports the larger goal of Qatar, which is to incorporate human rights into cutting-edge technologies, especially artificial intelligence. Qatar is working to become a global center for innovation and a thriving tech environment, and this project supports its rapid technical developments.
