Jaan Roose establishes a world record for the longest LED slackline walk in Qatar

Jaan Roose, a three-time world champion and famous Red Bull athlete, recently established a world record for the longest LED slackline walk, traversing over 150 metres between the historic Raffles and Fairmont Doha. The competition was held on a 2.5cm wide LED Highline hung more than 185 metres high on each end of the two towers.

During the 'Sparkline' challenge, the Estornian champion survived the gusts and even accomplished several stunts, like balancing upside down on the slackline and lying on his back midway through. “When I saw the iconic towers the first thought I had was, this is the building which I have to walk.” Roose had shared in a video.

Outlining the difficulties, he had in completing the assignment, Roose said that this slackline was unlike any others he had ever attempted owing to its setup and look. The Sparkline walk is also Roose's second-highest walk to date, at an elevation of more than 185 metres.

The Sparkline walk was part of Qatar's jam-packed agenda of worldwide activities. With numerous major sports events scheduled for 2023, including the Qatar Grand Prix MotoGP, the AFC Asian Cup, the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2023, and the Geneva International Motor Show Qatar, visitors to Qatar can enjoy remarkable athletic experiences all year long.
