The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) has revealed "A Seat at the Table: Food & Feasting in the Islamic World," a comprehensive exhibition that delves into the cultural significance of food in Muslim customs and throughout the Islamic world.
MIA, in partnership with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), is organizing the captivating show, which will be on display from May 22 to November 8.
It is organized by Teslim Sanni, Curatorial Affairs Researcher at the Museum of Islamic Art, and Dr. Tara Desjardins, Senior Curator of Decorative Arts & Design at the Lusail Museum.
This exhibition is a legacy project of the Years of Culture initiative, a program of partnerships between Qatar and partner nations that aims to foster understanding and respect for one another via the development of enduring social, cultural, and economic relationships.
The show, which features pieces and artwork from the collections of Qatar Museums' General Collections, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Lusail Museum, Qatar National Library, and MIA, emphasizes the importance of eating in Islamic civilizations.
