The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic, has introduced a long-term initiative aimed at eliminating road accidents by reshaping the behaviour of future generations.
Built on a preventive approach, the programme focuses on education and awareness as the cornerstone of road safety. Instead of depending solely on enforcement and penalties, the Ministry is prioritising sustainable behavioural change, starting with children and students who will become tomorrow’s drivers, passengers and pedestrians.
The initiative forms part of a wider strategy to foster a culture of responsibility and safety throughout society. While traffic regulations and monitoring systems remain essential, officials stress that lasting improvement requires a shift in attitudes over time. By integrating road safety education into early schooling and reinforcing it throughout students’ academic years, the Ministry aims to create a future where safe road practices are instinctive and traffic accidents are ultimately eradicated.
