Qatar's Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), on Wednesday, has cautioned all residents, citizens, and investors about the dangers of signing contracts, making investments, or sending money to businesses or organizations that purport to provide investment opportunities without first confirming their commercial registrations and legal status.
Any unlicensed party is not legally permitted to conduct fundraising events or offer investment services to the general public, the Ministry explained, and doing business with such organizations exposes investors to serious financial and legal dangers.
The Ministry also emphasized the significance of carrying out careful due diligence to confirm the validity and licensing status of any person or organization before signing any contracts or making any purchases. It encourages the public to use its established channels to contact it with questions or to confirm the legal status of investment providers.
