In place of the present annual licensing system, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has introduced the Developed Licensing System for Private Schools and Private Kindergartens, which adopts multi-year educational licenses (ranging from three to five years).
Beginning this month, a plan will be followed for the new system's implementation. Basic licenses will be provided gradually until the end of December 2027, and then exceptional schools will be granted advanced licenses beginning in January 2026 and ending in December 2030. MoEHE Undersecretary Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdulaziz Al-Naama, and representatives from private schools attended a news conference yesterday to make the announcement.
