MoEHE launched the Mobile Library to provide a learning environment beyond the classroom walls

The Mobile Library, which was unveiled yesterday at Um Al Amad Model School for Boys by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) and Mowasalat Company Karwa. This launch coincides with World Book and Copyright Day, which falls on April 23. The activity's goal is to establish a pleasurable educational environment, diversify reading ways, and improve social communication among public school pupils.

Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at MoEHE, Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili, stated that this project is consistent with the Ministry's objectives to promote and foster reading culture. He stated that it tries to optimize kids' leisure time outside of school hours by engaging them in useful activities that would help them improve their personalities, language skills, and knowledge.

The mobile library bus can accommodate up to thirty pupils and has two storeys. The first floor includes a reading room with a variety of books, learning resources, and interactive games accessible via smart tablets. The second floor houses a viewing area with a smart TV screen that displays interactive questions for students, such as historical facts about Qatar, its landmarks, rulers, World Cup stadiums, and much more.

The MoEHE prepared for the launch by conducting a pilot study in July 2023. Several centres were visited to assess students' interest in the bus concept.
