MoL has unveiled a digital service that will help amend occupations under a general permit

The Ministry of Labour (MoL) in Qatar is taking measures to streamline the procedure for changing job titles in the nation. With the use of a new digital tool made available by the MoL, vocations covered by general permits can be changed, enabling employers to submit applications on behalf of their employees.

The procedure may now be finished online without needing to go to the ministry's headquarters or any of its locations. The new service is in line with MoL's plan to create a digital labour infrastructure. Employers will be able to change the vocation or profession of their workers who have a valid work permit thanks to the new service. Additionally, they will be able to find out how their application is progressing. The service will enable a quick transition to the attestation system for employment contracts and export data on the altered occupation to the Ministry of Interior.

The e-portal also offers the option of downloading the employment contract. By doing away with the requirement to physically visit the ministry's offices and submit papers, the MoL hopes to simplify procedures. Everyone in the labour market dealing with the Ministry would have easy access to comprehensive online services.
