The leading transportation firm in Qatar, Mowasalat (Karwa), and bus maker Yutong has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the research and development of electric vehicles (EVs) for logistics.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines a number of areas in which the two businesses will collaborate, including joint promotion of the application and development of electric commercial vehicles in Qatar, joint research and development of electrification projects, and joint research on safe driving and operation efficiency for electric vehicles. Shen Hui, CEO of Yutong Middle East, and Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, CEO of Karwa, both signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Karwa's goal of actively promoting a better environment is furthered through this MoU.

In response to a question about the MoU, Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, CEO of Mowasalat (Karwa), said, "We are the major player in Qatar's transportation industry, and as such, we are conscious of our ecological obligation to the nation. This collaboration will enable us to advance the usage of sustainable energy while lowering carbon emissions. We look forward to cooperating closely with Yutong on new energy projects like cooperative research and development of EVs for logistics.

"At Yutong, we're dedicated to building a sustainable future for everyone, and we'll boost Qatar's adoption of electric commercial cars. According to Shen Hui, CEO of Yutong Middle East, "This partnership is a significant milestone for Yutong, and we look forward to working together to contribute to a greener and cleaner environment for Qatar.

Karwa has made a commitment to lowering carbon emissions and boosting clean energy in Qatar during the past few years. The company successfully launched the usage of E-Buses and E-Limousines for shared public transportation during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The company keeps advancing e-mobility and fostering a greener environment for future generations by pushing E-vehicles for commercial use. Karwa's sustainability initiatives complement the Qatar National Vision 2030, which calls for a sustainable and diversified economy, the reduction of environmental harm, and an improvement in the standard of living for Qataris.
