The Qatar Chamber (QC) announced yesterday that it has joined the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), the largest global organisation that represents all freight forwarders globally. The statement was made during the recent '2023 FIATA World Congress' in Brussels.
Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al Misnad, a Qatar Chamber board member, attended the convention. Al Misnad expressed his delight at the Chamber's participation in FIATA in his remark. He stressed that the accession was made possible by the overwhelming majority vote cast during the conference, owing to the Chamber's arduous work and ongoing coordination with the organisation over the years. He complimented FIATA's role in addressing global freight difficulties and challenges, emphasising that the 2023 Congress serves as an important venue for logistics firms to present innovations and explore the future of the logistics sector and supply chain management. He also praised the Qatari Embassy in Brussels for their assistance to the Chamber during the meeting.
Turgut Erkeskin, the new President of FIATA, met with Qatar Chamber board member Ali Al Misnad on the margins of the convention, congratulating the Chamber on its membership in the organisation. In 1926, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) was established in Vienna. Its current headquarters are in Geneva.
