The grace period for updating the status of vehicles with expired registrations has been extended, according to a statement from Qatar's General Directorate of Traffic. The new deadline for owners to organize their paperwork is October 27, 2025.
With effect from August 28, 2025, vehicles that have outlived the authorized time frame outlined in Article (11) of Traffic Law No. (19) of 2007 are now eligible for an extra 60-day extension.
The notice from July 27, 2025, which originally mandated that owners correct their status within 30 days, served as the basis for this decision. As of August 28, the time frame has been extended by an extra sixty days.
The extension is intended to provide car owners enough time to finish the necessary steps within the allotted time in order to avoid facing legal repercussions.
This program demonstrates the Directorate's dedication to improving road safety and making sure all automobiles follow the country's traffic laws.
