Qatar has reached a significant milestone in its shift to environmentally friendly transportation by installing more than 300 rapid electric vehicle (EV) chargers nationwide. The development of EV infrastructure is a reflection of the country's increasing dedication to clean energy, lower carbon emissions, and the objectives set forth in Qatar National Vision 2030.
A community engagement event was held yesterday at the Kahramaa Awareness Park in Al Thumama by the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa). In order to exchange ideas, discuss the future of EV charging infrastructure in Qatar, and exchange experiences, the event gathered together electric vehicle (EV) owners and enthusiasts.
During the event, Eng. Rashid Hussein Al-Rahimi, Director of the Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department at Kahramaa, disclosed that Qatar presently has more than 300 fast EV chargers strategically placed throughout the nation.
