Qatar Luxury Classic Cars Contest showcases world’s rarest classics

The sixth Qatar Luxury Classic Cars Contest & Exhibition was inaugurated at The Pearl Island by QGCCA Chairman H E Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani. Organised by the Qatari Gulf Classic Car Association, the event is held under the patronage of Qatar Museums Chairperson H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Running through November 23, this year’s edition features an expanded exhibition space and presents some of the world’s rarest and most prestigious classic cars. GCC participants make up 40% of the showcased vehicles, and the event is held under the direct oversight of the Federation of Historic Vehicles (FIVA).

Key features of the five-day exhibition include 15 awards presented to the top three vehicles in each of the five age categories: Pre-1947, 1948–1959, 1960–1970, 1971–1981, and 1982–1995.

Additional Excellence Awards will honour standout entries such as the Best Exceptional Luxury Car, Most Iconic and Distinguished Car, Best Preserved Original Car, Best Preserved Qatari Heritage Car, and Best Car in Show.

The judging panel consists of six experts — four internationally renowned specialists in classic car assessment and two Qatari judges who have participated in four previous editions.
