Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has introduced new digital services aimed at simplifying business setup, improving investor services and supporting the country’s digital transformation.
Key updates include:
E-commerce licence: Covers 194 approved activities and allows businesses to establish and operate e-commerce activities fully online.
Licence fee: The e-commerce licence costs QR500, with applications submitted online.
Updated website: MoCI has launched an improved version of its official website with easier access to information and services.
Qatar Business Map: The platform has been revamped to provide enhanced business-related information.
Upgraded app: The MoCI mobile app now offers additional digital services to make transactions easier.
The e-commerce licence was introduced under Ministerial Decision No. 25 of 2026, issued by HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani.
The new services are designed to make business registration and operations more convenient while supporting entrepreneurs and digital businesses entering Qatar’s market.
The updated MoCI website, Qatar Business Map and mobile app provide easier access to services, market data, digital certificates and business renewals. These updates build on the ministry’s 2026 initiatives, including the Companies Regulatory Record Report, One-Stop Platform banking integration and AI Agent Factory with Microsoft, supporting a simpler business environment and Qatar’s economic competitiveness.
