Qatar Museums embarks on a culinary journey, presenting their latest offering, “Akilna”

Qatar Museums has embarked on a gastronomic adventure, releasing "Akilna," a four-part video series that goes into the essence of Qatari food. The series takes viewers on a compelling and flavorful experience, led by the immensely gifted Chef Noof Al Marri, proprietor of the Desert Rose Café within the National Museum of Qatar.

The first episode, named "Madrouba," is now accessible on Qatar Museums' website and YouTube. It presents the traditional Qatari delicacy made from beaten rice. Chef Noof debuted her own take on the classic Madrouba, enhancing it with healthy ingredients like spinach and oats while preserving the genuine flavours with Qatri ghee (Dehna) and key spices. Throughout the show, she imparts her knowledge, underlining the necessity of using the appropriate rice and include fenugreek for both flavour and health advantages.

Chef Noof pays homage to Qatar's love of seafood in the second episode, "Baranyoosh," by replicating the renowned Qatari meal of grilled fish and rice, finished with the delicious date syrup. She demonstrated how date molasses became a healthier replacement for sugar in traditional Qatari cuisine by drawing on ancient wisdom. The laborious preparation of the date molasses and the exact seasoning of the fish demonstrate Qatari gastronomy's attention to detail and culinary expertise.

Chef Noof's enthusiasm for cooking began at a young age, and she has since risen to international recognition, enthralling audiences throughout the world with her culinary talent. She has displayed Qatari food from Doha to China, Turkiye, Germany, and India, bringing the globe to Qatar's rich culture and identity via the art of cooking.
