Changes to the One Riyal denomination of the nation's fifth series of banknotes were announced by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB).
The official state emblem, Arabic numbers, and issuance date will all be altered in the new edition.
According to QCB, the modification was made to conform to the nation's existing legal framework.
The previous edition of the Qatari Riyal (Fifth Series) will continue to be in use, it was further confirmed, and this modification would eventually be extended to other currency denominations.
