
This September, Qatar Museums offers a rich programme of cultural and creative events, from a rare lunar eclipse at MIA to family storytelling at NMoQ, plus workshops at Mathaf, M7, and Liwan. Highlights include Tasweer’s photography lecture, archaeology workshops, and sports debates at QOSM.
At Mathaf, sessions include How to Write a Public Speech (Sept 3), portraiture workshops with Ismail Azzam (Sundays & Tuesdays), and Fashion Forward upcycling (Sept 29). Tasweer hosts a photography lecture and antique camera tour with Kamal Naji (Sept 6). NMoQ offers drop-in activities on pearl diving (Sept 7), storytelling (Mya’s First Day of School, Sept 11), and family tours (Sept 13).
MIA marks the rare total lunar eclipse (Sept 7) with live viewing, guided tours, a treasure hunt, and art workshops. Other highlights include Family Day: The Blessings of Quranic Plants (Sept 13) and Sacred Gardens (Sept 23).
QOSM hosts 321 Goals (Sept 7–11), exploring sport’s role in global challenges, and celebrates International Day of Peace (Sept 21) with origami dove-making. Liwan combines tradition and technology in Design Meets Tradition laser cutting workshops (Sept 9, 16, 23, 30). The Archaeology Department offers an Artefact Workshop (Sept 23) for children to explore pottery and drawing techniques. M7 presents Creative Letter & Postcard Workshop (Sept 20) and a fashion illustration class, Drawing Mannequin Foundations (Sept 27).
This year also marks Qatar Museums’ 20th anniversary, celebrated with Evolution Nation—an 18-month campaign highlighting the nation’s cultural journey.
