Qatar's continuous dedication to fostering innovation, research, and development as essential pillars of its transition toward a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy is reflected in its ranking of 48th in the 2025 Global Innovation Index (GII), which was released by WIPO.
Institutions, Human Capital and Research, Infrastructure, Market Sophistication, Business Sophistication, Knowledge and Technology Outputs, and Creative Outputs are the seven pillars through which economies are assessed by the Global Innovation Index. Every pillar is then subdivided into smaller pillars.
All of these variables combined give a thorough picture of the circumstances, expenditures, and results that influence a country's ability to innovate.
