'Qatar Tourism Awards 2023' launched to recognise and reward those working in the tourism sector

To honour people working in the tourist industry, Qatar Touristm established the "Qatar Tourism Awards 2023." Launched in collaboration with the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the award is the first of its kind in Qatar and honours contributions to the excellence and distinctiveness of the country's tourist experience. 

H E Akbar Al Baker, the chairman of Qatar Tourism and the CEO of the Qatar Airways Group, and Berthold Trenkel, the chief operating officer of Qatar Tourism, announced the prize during a press conference today.

The Qatar Tourism Awards honour people and organisations that regularly outperform the nation's standards for service delivery. Qatar tourist strives to achieve the best possible quality standards for the nation's expanding tourist industry in close cooperation with the World Tourism Organisation.

The three primary categories for the Qatar Tourism Awards are Service Excellence, Cultural Experience, and Smart Solutions. There will be numerous subcategories in each of these categories, for a total of 50 prizes.

Beginning on May 12, 2023, entries from both people and organisations can be filed online. The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2023. Shortlisted entries will then be given to the jury, and the winner will be revealed during a ceremony in November 2023.
