Qatar Tourism unveils the brand-new "Luminous Festival", commencing on February 21

This month, Qatar Tourism unveils the brand-new "Luminous Festival" light event. The Luminous Festival in Al Saad Plaza, Lusail Boulevard, will begin on February 21 and run everyday until March 2 to bring an end to this year's winter season.  The inaugural event will be open every day from 5 p.m. to midnight.

As the largest light festival in Qatar, the occasion promises to be a sight to see, with five zones, almost twenty interactive installations, live mascots, stage shows, and an array of entertainment options.  Reputable entertainment groups like Candela and Boogie Woogie are getting ready to play at the Luminous Festival. The events will feature current and Qatari cultures and cater to a wide range of age groups and interests.  There will be stage performances from international and regional artists also.

Different Zones to Experience at Luminous Festival:

The Gateway Zone:

At the Gateway Zone, visitors to the Luminous Festival will be greeted by moving lights and enormous projections that depict the festival's tale. Limelight, an international design firm, created the installations in Gateway Zone.

Earth Zone:

Amigo & Amigo's creations will be on display in the Earth Zone. It is intended to showcase garden-themed works that draw people in with its interactive, fluorescent lighting that mimics natural elements.

Amigo & Amigo is an Australian company that specialised in industrial design and sculpture. It was founded in Sydney in 2012.

 Water Zone:

China Light Festival B.V. and Atelier Sisu are the designers of the Water Zone. The Darb Lusail Plaza Whale Shark, among other marine aspects, served as inspiration for the Water Zone, which aims to educate guests about the marvels of the ocean.

Leaders of the Sydney-based design studio Atelier Sisu are Zara Pasfield and Renzo B. Larriviere.

China Light Festival B.V. is the worldwide division of Sichuan Tianyu Culture Communication Co., Ltd., a Chinese firm, operating in Europe.

Fire Zone:

Through interactive displays inspired by pyrotechnics and ignition, created by Digital Art Projection, the Fire Zone conveys warmth and radiance (DAP). Georgie Pinn, an award-winning artist, conceived and produced DAP, a company that specialised in interactive displays, cultural events, and 3D architectural mapping.

Air Zone:

The artwork in The Air Zone will be inspired by air and space, with a glowing beauty that will make viewers feel as though they are actually on cloud nine. Australian design company Airena, headed by filmmaker Ed Boyle and artist Felipe Reynolds, is a key designer in this area.
