Qatar will participate in the European Space Agency's campaign to photograph the DART collision

On Monday evening, Qatar will take part in a global campaign organized by the European Space Agency to observe and photograph the collision of DART with the orbiting asteroid Dimorphos.

Astronomer at Qatar Calendar House Dr. Bashir Marzooq said experts will take dozens of images when the impact is expected at 2 a.m. Tuesday. Predicting that the collision will not be visible to the naked eye, the observatory team will attempt to use a 14-inch telescope to observe the asteroid.

The QU Astronomy Club will be present at the observatory site along with professionals from the Qatar Calendar House, Arab Astronomical Society and others, in addition to dozens of people interested in astronomy from Qatar.
