It is now possible to register for the inaugural international Samla Race, Qatar’s toughest endurance challenge, scheduled for 24 January 2026.
The Samla Race, in collaboration with Visit Qatar, is taking on an international dimension, calling upon top-tier male and female athletes from all corners of the globe to engage in a uniquely demanding trial of endurance and might across the varied terrains of Qatar.
Four consecutive, high-impact disciplines comprise the Samla International Race: a 3-kilometre open-water swim, a 49-kilometre run, a 44-kilometre mountain biking trail, and a 4-kilometre kayaking course.
Through the official race website, athletes can sign up and access a detailed race guide that outlines participation criteria, safety requirements, and all relevant rules and regulations. Top finishers in both male and female categories will be awarded from a prize pool of around USD 300,000.
Registration will be available from 20 July to 9 August 2025, allowing participants a 20-day period to submit their applications, which is sufficient for them to register. Due to the limited number of spots, completing the registration form does not ensure participation. Once the official registration period closes, confirmations will be emailed out. Only athletes who receive confirmation will need to pay a participation fee to secure their spot.
