The second edition of the Souq Waqif Asian Nuts & Dried Fruits Exhibition continues to draw strong crowds at the Eastern Square, with residents and tourists turning out in large numbers on its third day.
Running until March 1, the exhibition brings together more than 40 companies from nine Asian countries, including Qatar, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Yemen and Oman. Participants are presenting a wide array of nuts, dried fruits, sweets, honey and related products imported directly from their home countries.
Open daily from 7:30pm to midnight to suit Ramadan’s evening schedule, the exhibition has become a preferred destination for families preparing for iftar and Ramadan gatherings. Nuts and dried fruits remain staples on Ramadan tables, while sweets are especially popular ahead of Garangao celebrations.
Visitors have praised the event’s cultural diversity and competitive prices. An exhibitor from Iran noted that premium nuts, dried fruits and saffron were freshly shipped for the occasion.
