The celebrated GIMS Qatar that ran from October 5 to 14 had an overwhelmingly high turnout

Over 1,000 journalists from more than 50 countries and 180,000 people attended the first Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) Qatar, which was organised by Qatar Tourism. The event took place over ten days. It was the first time the Geneva International Motor Show has been held outside of Switzerland since its founding in 1905.

The renowned automobile exhibition, held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), drew a large crowd of thirty exhibitors who together announced twelve global premieres and 29 regional debuts between October 5 and October 14. An important feature of the Geneva International Motor Show was the sound of horns honking as the first edition closed its doors on October 14 at 10 p.m.

The Geneva International Motor Show Qatar provided a unique venue for automotive professionals to showcase state-of-the-art technology, ideas, and concepts. It was spread across 10,000 m2 at the DECC. The motor show expanded beyond the exhibit halls to become a nationwide celebration of automotive excellence, featuring events such as the Future Design Forum at the National Museum of Qatar, Track Days at the recently renovated Lusail International Circuit, off-road adventures at Sealine Adventure Hub, and a Parade of Excellence at the Urban Playground situated in the family-friendly Lusail Boulevard.

The GIMS Qatar organisers and founding partners expressed their deep pleasure with the outcome and the overwhelmingly high turnout. November 2025 will see the return of GIMS Qatar.
