The ministry has warned against consuming leafy greens fearing E-coli contamination

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) is warning consumers against consuming a certain brand and origin of leafy greens, spinach or arugula due to the potential for E. coli contamination. Especially the leafy products that are originating from the Netherlands with a lot number 238294 of the brand Holland's Glory. 

The ministry said in a statement on its website that the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) had monitored the product.

It also confirmed that necessary precautionary measures have been taken as the distributors have been circulated to withdraw the product immediately subject to notification from the market.

The ministry explained that it was notified about the product through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF). The ministry immediately took necessary precautionary measures and reached out to the supplier to withdraw the product from the market immediately. As a further precaution inspectors have been deployed to check whether the concerned sales points are free from this.

MOPH also asked consumers in case of purchasing leafy greens in the notification, not to eat them and spoil them or return them to the outlet.
