Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, launched the "Bond" exhibition on January 4 in front of a huge group of interested parties and artists. In collaboration with the Gulf Painters Group, the three-day show will take place in Building 18, Hall 1 at Katara. 32 artists from Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, the Emirates, and Iraq are represented in the show. They come from a variety of artistic and creative backgrounds, and they use a variety of artistic mediums to illuminate a range of subjects, such as modernism, heritage, pride in one's country, and singing the praises of nature.
Prof. Dr. Al Sulaiti praised the exhibition for its concept as well as the exceptionally creative artistic works it showcases. These works will facilitate greater collaboration among Gulf artists and foster the sharing of experiences and knowledge, whether through the artists' presentations of their various works as part of a single exhibition or through seminars that accompany the show and address important issues. He also reaffirmed Katara's unwavering desire to help Gulf artists and give them chances to exhibit their works and interact with the public, citing the organization's efforts to enhance the local and regional artistic landscape and its mission to foster cross-cultural understanding.
The exhibition's high artistic calibre and the variety of its schools, techniques, and subjects were also praised by the participating artists, who also extended their gratitude to Katara for organising the event and making it a success. They invited the public and art enthusiasts to attend the exhibition and the various accompanying seminars, which they said represented a great opportunity to learn and become more receptive to the experiences of artists from different Gulf countries.
