World’s largest tech event’s debut in the Middle East and Africa, Web Summit Qatar 2024, concluded on a high note

Web Summit Qatar 2024, the largest digital event in the world, made its debut in the Middle East and Africa yesterday, and it witnessed a record number of global tech fans, industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and global tech giants.

As the first edition of Doha draws to an end, it has accomplished a number of firsts and broken several records. The Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre received 15,453 people from 118 nations over the course of four days. Among them were representatives from 10 percent of Qatar and 20 percent of Africa. The participants were there to observe the technological advances of 1,043 countries. 380 presenters, 148 partners, and 401 investors made up the event's global audience.

Almost 900 IT journalists and media professionals covered the summit as the record-breaking event continued to draw attention globally across channels and platforms.

CEO of Web Summit Katherine Maher emphasised the event's unprecedented attendance figures, which were especially noticeable given Qatar's well-known hospitality.
