Public parks will remain open until 2:00 am during the Eid Al Fitr holidays

During the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, public parks will be open till late at night. During the Eid holidays, public parks will be open from 5 a.m. until 2 a.m., according to the Ministry of Municipality.

According to Mohammed Abdullah, head of the parks section at the Doha Municipality, "The Ministry of Municipality has prepared public parks operating across the country in anticipation of a large number of visitors during Eid Al Fitr due to the pleasant weather."

The majority of the municipality's parks, according to him, are accessible to the public from 5 a.m. until 2 a.m., after which they are closed for three hours for upkeep and cleaning.

Particularly on weekends and holidays, public parks have developed into popular destinations for picnicking by individuals, families, and groups of people.

On special days and on holidays, people gather in public parks with their families and friends.

131,961 people visited public parks over the course of the Eid Al Fitr celebrations last year, according to data made available by the Ministry of Municipality.

With 50,000 visitors, public parks in the Doha Municipality had the largest number of visitors, followed by 35,500 visitors to parks in the Al Rayan Municipality.

In Qatar, there are now 148 public parks, up from 56 in 2010—a 164 percent increase.

Public parks offer jogging trails, play places for kids, and fitness equipment, and some are air-conditioned for the convenience of visitors.

Building public parks is a component of the Ministry's efforts to create and develop public parks and picnic areas throughout the municipalities so that people have access to healthful, entertaining, and tourist-oriented spaces. 

As part of continuous beautifying efforts, the Public Parks Department is aiming to establish public parks, walkways, and cycling tracks at all potential residential locations.

Public parks have been improved, and new parks are being created with novel concepts and cutting-edge technology to make them more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
