Qatar Airways marks two historic milestones: new flights to Toronto Canada, and more Starlink-enabled aircraft

Two significant milestones are being celebrated by Qatar Airways: more Starlink-enabled aircraft than ever before and new flights to Toronto, Canada. Today, December 12, the airline's first flight to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), a Boeing 777 equipped with Starlink, touched down. This officially marks the start of three weekly nonstop flights from Hamad International Airport (DOH), which Skytrax awarded the World's Best Airport in 2024.

Toronto joins Montreal as Qatar Airways' second Canadian route. Since its founding in 2011, the airline has flown seven daily flights to and from Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL), carrying over 1.6 million passengers. Additionally, this is the airline's sixteenth entry point into the Americas.

With the launch of the new Toronto route, passengers from Canada and abroad will have easy access to locations throughout Qatar Airways' vast worldwide network. Additionally, the airline has upgraded 14 of its 777 aircraft in less than 55 days, bringing the total to 15, surpassing its goal of installing Starlink on 12 of these aircraft by the end of 2024.
