A one-week administrative shutdown of Talabat services in Qatar has been issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) in response to findings pertaining to consumer protection laws.
Articles (7) and (11) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection and related executive rules, according to the Ministry, were the basis for the action. MoCI's continuous efforts to protect consumer rights and guarantee ethical business practices in the marketplace are reflected in the decision.
The Ministry stated that recorded infractions pertaining to the accuracy of service assurances and product information were connected to the closure. Such actions, it continued, are a component of its larger plan to improve transparency and boost customer trust.
Some users have also complained about loading problems and sluggish performance with the Talabat app at the time of this release.
In addition to stressing the significance of compliance by all service providers to promote a robust and competitive business climate in Qatar, MoCI reaffirmed its commitment to market monitoring, regulatory enforcement, and consumer rights protection.
Taking a balanced approach, Talabat is actively addressing the issues brought up and anticipates shortly returning to regular business operations.
