Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort will be opening in October

Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort, a kitesurfing resort on Qatar's northern coast, will open to the public next month.

This is another addition to the number of new resorts being set up to welcome guests as Qatar hosts the FIFA World Cup later this year.

The beach resort will have a dedicated area for wind and water sports suitable for kitesurfers. Apart from kitesurfing, it also offers adventurous activities like paddle-boarding, parasailing, wakeboarding, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba-diving and more. It is about an hour and a half drive from Doha.

Fuwairit Beach Resort has 50 rooms, eight connecting rooms suitable for a family of four or five. About forty of these rooms face the beach. Thirty-two have king-size beds and eight are twin rooms.

It has been described as "one of the world's best-kept kitesurfing secrets" and "the best of both worlds". The place is ideal for sports as it has nine months of excellent winds and a flat lagoon.

Upon entering the resort, you will be greeted by a large statue of a shaka symbol (pinky, thumb salute), considered the ultimate symbol of aloha. When you arrive at the reception area of the resort, the staff will greet you with the phrase "Aloha Marhaba". (Aloha is a Hawaiian greeting, marhaba means hello in Arabic) Notably, the design of the main hall is a mix of contemporary and modern, with different displays of groovy cars, flamingos, scooters and bicycles – the latter hanging in the reception area.

There is also a playing table space with board games such as Connect Four and Jenga. The pantry area is also located in the main hall and is connected to the “hang loose” area where guests can relax and unwind.

Around the resort, graffiti art everywhere showcases the beach community, Qatar's culture, and ocean-inspired murals. Swimming pool facing the sea next to the reception area.

The rooms are also unusual, featuring murals – the same theme as the artwork displayed outside Msheireb station, which highlights the people of Qatar. It is also equipped with television, cabinets and washroom.
