Inaugural edition of Web Summit Qatar commencing on Monday will see record-breaking numbers in all aspects

Web Summit Qatar, the first-ever event of its sort in the Middle East, is expected to exceed attendance records in every way when it opens on Monday and runs through February 29 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.

At a pre-event press conference on Thursday, Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, the chairman of the Web Summit Qatar 2024 Organising Committee, said that the event, which has attracted a great deal of interest from participants worldwide, is officially sold out.

The burgeoning innovation ecosystem in Qatar will be the topic of a speech by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister of Qatar. He will also discuss how advancements in technology may help all of mankind.

The four-day conference will also feature a number of prominent speakers and business executives, such as Emmy-winning comedian Trevor Noah, WPP CEO Mark Read, Whoop CEO Will Ahmed, astronaut and Deep Space Initiative creator Sara Sabry, and Replit co-founder and CEO Amjad Masad.

More than 500 investors and partners from countries including Qatar, USA, Egypt, Brazil, Italy, Nigeria, UK, and India will be vying for the attention of over 1,000 entrepreneurs from 80 different countries.

One of the highlights of the Web Summit is the Pitch Competition, which is open to all participating entrepreneurs.

Startups will have the opportunity to establish a booth where they may interact with investors and prospective customers, have meetings, and participate in mentoring programmes.

The Women in Tech initiative aims to acknowledge the remarkable prospects that technology presents for women to engage with the business and society, and to tackle pressing problems pertaining to commercial, economic, and social domains.

The Doha event will be added to the company's worldwide lineup, which already includes Web Summit Rio, which will return in 2024, Collision, the fastest-growing tech event in North America, and flagship event Web Summit, which brings 71,000 participants to Lisbon each November.
