Microsoft’s booth at the Expo 2023 Doha showcases the latest data and AI innovations

Microsoft opened its booth at the Expo 2023 Doha. The company is showcasing the most recent data and artificial intelligence (AI) innovations that are crucial for organisations looking to lessen their environmental impact, increase climate resilience, conserve the environment, and ultimately create a more sustainable future for all.

The inauguration was presided over by Mohamed Ali Al Khoori, Secretary General of Expo 2023 Doha, and was witnessed by local media representatives, Harold "Lee" Brayman, Commercial Officer, and Srinivasa Murthy, Commercial Specialist, representing the Foreign Commercial Service, American Embassy Doha.

Lana Khalaf, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, spoke at the event and emphasised the importance of striking a balance between social development, economic growth, and environmental preservation. Microsoft is committed to advancing climate change initiatives in line with the Qatar National Environment and Climate Change Strategy. In her remarks, she emphasised Microsoft's ongoing efforts to innovate with Qatari organisations, providing knowledge, tools, and technology—such as artificial intelligence and data—to support them in making data-driven decisions that will enable them to set and meet their own climate goals and foster economic growth and innovation.

The Microsoft exhibit at Expo 2023 Doha offers an impressive array of solutions, including Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability, and the Emissions Impact Dashboards for Azure and M365. Additionally, a selection of solutions from Microsoft partners, such as Siemens, Techvista, Alight, Click2cloud, Bravent, TCS, and Accenture/Agerpoint, are available.

All of these solutions—from carbon capture and climate monitoring to renewable energy and vertical farming—have been developed to assist organisations in reducing their energy and water usage, their physical footprints, and their ability to manufacture sustainable goods.

The solutions also show how artificial intelligence (AI) may be used to seize enormous chances for sustainability.

Visit the Innovation Centre at Expo 2023 Doha to learn about Microsoft's most recent advancements in sustainability. The event runs until March 28, 2024.

By 2030, Microsoft wants to be carbon negative, water positive, and trash free. By 2050, it wants to have eliminated all of the carbon released since its creation, including from its global datacenter operations. Because the firm powers its datacenters globally with renewable energy, Microsoft Cloud services are up to 98% more carbon- and energy-efficient than typical enterprise DCs.
