Ministry of Labour introduces e-service for employee secondment requests

The launch of new e-service for employee secondment requests announced by the Ministry of Labour (MoL)

The service is part of the ministry's digital transformation strategy to expedite procedures and the completion of transactions, according to a statement from the MoL,

With the new service, requesting for full secondment or part-time work outside working hours as well as the renewal of such requests can now be done electronically.

The new service also allows the submission of requests for the secondment of workers to another company or organisation without the need to change the current employer.

Employees can work full-time or part-time in the new company, following the approval of the application.

The service is subject to the current employer's approval, and the company to which the worker is seconded must also be fully registered and duly approved in line with the provisions of Labour Law No. 14 of 2004, the ministry noted. Also, there must not be any violation of the provisions of the Labour Law by the establishment submitting the application.

The secondment period should also not exceed a maximum of six months, and it must not exceed the expiry date of the employee's residence permit. Private establishments and companies, as well as the public, can benefit from the services of the Ministry of Labour via the website: CLICK HERE
