MoECC organised an array of activities to mark Qatar Environment Day 2024

This year, Qatar Environment Day 2024 was observed with the theme "Our Earth Our Legacy," and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) planned a number of events to commemorate the occasion. The Ministry also unveiled a platform for air quality and the Be'ah app for the environment yesterday.

At an event held at Umm Al Amad Reserve, a number of authorities and environmental activists joined H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

"The Ministry's vision regarding the close connection between the environment and our cultural and civilizational heritage, which extends to what we will pass on to the future generations, is emphasised by the theme Our Earth Our Legacy," the Minister stated.

The Be'ah (environment) app was introduced yesterday at a separate ceremony by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change. This app is part of the MoECC's ongoing digital transformation initiative for all of its publicly accessible services.

All of the ministry's services that are currently offered on the website are included in the app. The environmental affairs sector, the natural resources sector, and the climate change sector that caters to businesses and individuals are the three categories into which services are divided. The app offers a wide range of services to the corporate sector, including radiological device services, radioactive materials services, radiation work field services, chemical services, hazardous waste services, environmental evaluation and permits, environmental monitoring and inspection services, and many more.

On the ministry's website, the MoECC recently introduced an air quality platform for the general public. Through a display screen on the MoECC website, the platform enables all members of society to learn about the state of the air quality in every part of the nation.

According to the highest international standards, the screen shows air quality data for each part of the nation through 40 air quality monitoring stations as indicators in easily comprehensible colours and with great accuracy.
