MWNF launched a new online exhibition platform to discuss its uses for education, exhibition programming, and interaction with physical exhibitions

At a live event in Doha that was also co-hosted by the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum, Museum With No Frontiers (MWNF) unveiled a new online exhibition platform under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani. The new online platform may be used for teaching, exhibition programming, and engagement with live exhibitions, according to a panel of 10 cultural organisations that are currently partners with Museum With No Frontiers during the inaugural ceremony. Cultural institutions from Egypt, Ethiopia, Jordan, Oman, Portugal, Qatar, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America were represented, along with a number of dignitaries, diplomats, and members of the local and foreign media.

Users may navigate between themes and engage digitally with collections on a quicker, more dynamic system thanks to the new platform's presentation, which was based on a showcase exhibition named "The Use of Colours in Art." The brand-new, gorgeous platform gives MWNF the resources to seamlessly guide audiences through history and art.

MWNF has over two decades of experience creating and overseeing online exhibits. The main accomplishment of this new online exhibition platform is its inventive technical approaches, such as the use of automated templates, which reduce programming resources and enable MWNF to spend more time creating top-notch content with its global network of cultural partners.

Virtual programming and displays are not new to MWNF. Since its founding in 1995, MWNF has established a number of well-known and extensive online museums and galleries by working closely with well-known websites and institutions. As of now, projects including "Discover Islamic Art," "Discover Baroque Art," and "Sharing History" have been launched. There are also MWNF Galleries where the content is organised by medium or item type, such as "Discover Carpet Art" or "Discover Glass Art."

The COVID-19 epidemic led to a change in the cultural landscape towards digital & virtual activities. While physical displays are starting up again, there is still an increasing demand on cultural institutions from people all over the world who want access to creative and educational resources at their fingertips.

In response to the predicament the legacy business is in, this was the driving force behind MWNF's ambition to create its new online platform. The Museum has been a trailblazer in combining their interpretation of relics and monuments with the cultural and historical context, and the new online platform is an extension of that approach.

The following objectives are what MWNF intends to accomplish with the new platform:

  • Develop worldwide exhibition initiatives that all Partners may participate in.
  • To advance internationalisation, namely through developing curatorial notions
  • To enable a sizable audience to access and appreciate the outcomes of study.
  • More attractive visual layout that improves the appeal of instructional information.
  • Creating exhibits with an emphasis on age-appropriate knowledge for various levels of education for certain educational groups.
  • The opportunity to use both physical and virtual exhibitions simultaneously, expanding their potential audience or enhancing the visitor experience in actual places.
