The Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) will host the 32nd Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) from June 12 to 21. By participating, Qatar Museums will give people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to discover the transformative power of books, art, and museums.

The 32nd DIBF will feature a wide range of new books, award-winning publications, and distinctive art catalogues that explore subjects like history, architecture, archaeology, orientalism, modern and Islamic art, sports, and engrossing children's tales. Visitors can explore these materials at the Qatar Museums booth.

Recent publications include Museum of Islamic Art: The Collection, Museum of Islamic Art: The Guide, Baghdad: Eye's Delight, Beirut and the Golden Sixties, Labour of Love: New Approaches to Palestinian Embroidery, Art Mill Museum 2030, Taysir Batniji: Untitled (Portraits of Martyrs), The Great Mongol Shahnama, and a children's book named A Small Glitch in the World that was inspired by traditional Palestinian embroidery.

In addition to a wide range of publications, Qatar Museums will hold several activities, including book launches and interactive workshops, as well as book discussions at the main Book Fair theatre such as "Museum of Islamic Art: The Collection" on June 13 with Shaikha Nasser Al-Nassr (Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs), Dr. Mounia Checkab Abudaya (Senior Curator for North Africa and Iberia), and Dr. Tara Desjardins (Curator of South Asia).

These events will provide art and culture lovers a richer experience and a chance to interact with experts from Qatar Museums. Children's Oasis at DECC will also host a variety of activities for young visitors, including workshops on "Abstract Painting" and "Storytelling: Celebrating Eid" presented by the National Museum of Qatar, "The Story Realm" presented by Children's Museum of Qatar - DADU, and "An Illustrated Sports Hero" and "Design a Book Cover" presented by 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.

The 2023 Doha International Book Fair, organised under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, is anticipated to draw a record number of international publishers and participants, highlighting Qatar's dedication to promote culture on an Arabic and worldwide level.
